Bio

Carol McArdle was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, W.I. to an English Mother and Jamaican Father. At the age of three she moved to England with her Mother and spent most of her childhood in English boarding schools. Only the last two years of High School were spent back in Jamaica where Carol loved the weather but missed England's culture and society.

Carol knew from the age of ten she would be an artist and went to West Surrey College of Art and Design in Farnham, Surrey in England. Farnham was only an hour's train ride from London with all the great Art exhibits always available and Carol often visited the National Gallery, The Tate and the British Museum. The variety of styles of art that Carol was exposed to has always remained with her and her long art career has spanned many art disciplines. She is a multi-talented artist, excelling in whatever she puts her hands to.

After having lived in England, Ireland and Jamaica, Carol moved to the States in 1992 and to Southwest Florida in 1995. She became an American citizen in 2001 and has now lived in Florida, where she feels she is finally home, longer than anywhere else all her life. Carol's art also reflects her appreciation of Florida's warm climate and unique landscapes. Her latest series of paintings being a collection of what she discovers in the local Florida state parks and other preserved land.
